Aunt Beattie's Victorian Pantry

Every market town needs a tearoom, and Aunt Beattie's Victorian Pantry is one of the best. All the cakes are baked on the premises fresh each day and the cream horns have won awards, in fact Beattie's nephew Kenny (an internationally famous radio and television star from the 1950's) says he likes nothing more than one of her cream horns every morning.

Beattie's (as it is locally known) is one of a kind, and nothing is ever too much trouble for her or her team of enthusiastic staff.  If you happen to be passing stop by and visit her upper floors, as according to rumour she has the best tarts in the business!

Alice's House & Antique Shop

This is perhaps one of the strangest buildings in the town. For many years it stood empty as it had a reputation of being haunted before Alice Rowling and her family moved in and turned it into an Antique and Curio store. It had been always been known as Alice's House ever but no-one really knows why, although there are several theories according to the History of Wizard's Thatch, a book published by Tangled Words bookshop - but when Alice's family were looking to move, the name "clinched the deal" and they moved in shortly after seeing it for the first time.

Her parents thought that the building was amazingly quirky but Alice said she didn't like it.  She thought that the house was grinning at her, like it had its own personality somehow.  She thought that it was a very unpleasant grin.

The building is still owned by Bombay Manor Estates and managed by Valeria Bombay from her office at Bombay Manor on the outskirts of Wizard's Thatch.
