Welcome to Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon, home to the Creaky Cauldron Witchcraft Museum (Warwickshires most haunted museum and scare experience) and the Wizarding World of Dr Thaddeus Bombay in a genuinely haunted tudor building where ghosts, spirits, poltergeists and demons come out to play during ghost hunts, overnight vigils, victorian seances, candlelit terror tours and ghost walks of Stratford. Not for the faint hearted!

The building called Halls Croft lies at the bottom of Old Town by Holy Trinity and has many stories to tell only some of which we can mention here.

An Elizabethan gentleman has been seen staring down into the road from the firstfloor windows; children are heard running up and down the stairs and ghostly piano music is heard wafting from the area that is now the cafe.  But perhaps the most famous story - or should that be infamous is the following one...

Halls Croft and Most Haunted

In February 2004, the building was visited by the television company responsible for a programme called Most Haunted. The team included the presenter Yvette Fielding, the producer Karl Beattie and the medium Derek Acorah.

Whilst conducting their paranormal investigation live on air something terrifying happened. The team had upset a spirit so much that it actually threw something at them.

Now it has to be said that there is more to this story.  Halls Croft is home to a museum of Elizabethan surgical equipment: knives, saws, blades, scalpels, drills and other dangerous objects of the art medical.

So what object would an upset spirit throw at people if it intended to cause harm, a heavy blunt object? A knife perhaps. No this spirit decided to cause fear by throwing a much more deadly object at them.

The vengeful spirit threw……. A wooden spoon at the team.

I feel they were lucky to escape with their lives after such a traumatic incident.
