Welcome to the "Creepy
Cauldron"
England's most haunted building
Stratford upon Avon is
one of Britain’s number one tourist destinations and yet hidden away in one of the town’s busiest streets lies
a building with a secret that few of the millions of visitors to this popular destination are aware of, nor the haunted folklore
which surrounds it.
The site itself is the only remaining
part of what used to be Europe’s largest Coaching Inn in the 17th and 18th centuries. By day the building houses the
award winning Museum of Wizardology and Magic Alley, but as dusk falls and darkness descends on the building it is easy to
believe you have stepped into the setting of a classic ghost story within an abandoned gothic mansion.
Built originally in the mid 16th century the building has had many uses including
a large rambling house full of sinister secrets giving rise to the tales of a curse on the owners. This notion of a curse was reinforced during the 19th century when the then owner, pregnant by a former
paramour was pushed down the stairs by her own father – eerily echoing the death of a small child in the same spot 100
years before. The child was the only surviving witness to an appalling murder that took place some weeks
earlier.

The Theatre Of Fear at the Victorian Imagiscarium tells
the stories associated with these and other tragic events that took place on this cursed site through the centuries.
Visitors regularly report seeing children dressed in Victorian garb as well as experiencing the terror associated with
the 18th century murder. However the ghostly occurrences
are not limited to just these. Footsteps are frequently heard in empty corridors and the ghost of a lady
in a long black dress patrols the upper corridors in the dead of night.
Now, you too can experience the terror of these events as you take part in one of the country’s
most unique ghost hunting experiences. This is not an event for the faint-hearted by any means, but we are confident that
being a part of "The List" will provide a unique and unforgettable experience.
"Well what can I say except I wasn't really prepared for such an awesome night in a very atmospheric location.
The Creaky Cauldron has gone to "No. 1" on my list of all time favourites and I wish we could have spent longer
there although we all probably would have crawled out drained of our energies! Testing times indeed and I wont forget
the eyes. What was that film? "The Eyes Have It" I think!
I have never seen what I would call the devil or "Lucifer" however what happened left me summoning
up all my guides, my partner’s guides (who wasn’t even there) and a higher guide to prevent and protect the group
from a very negative force. This experience has left me asking plenty of questions! Top marks to the medium who faced a very
powerful energy - brilliant.
Would I go back to the Creaky Cauldron? Most definitely!
The place is so deceptive
and is not for the faint hearted...................... has certainly made me think!"
