When students are enjoying a lesson it shows. It shows in their attention levels, in the effort they put in and the results they achieve. The Seek the Magic Education Programme offers maximum educational value through unique and stimulating learning experiences.

Overview: Some of the best lessons are outside the classroom and it's amazing what you can achieve in just one day away from it! A school trip to should challenge your pupils, fill them with enthusiasm and let them experience history and culture first hand.

Working in collaboration with practicing teachers and educational advisers, we have created a programme of events and activities for pupils. With so much to see and experience, and supported by our educational resources, we can provide an outstanding environment to stimulate your students' imaginations.

At Seek the Magic we've got it covered: we can help with risk assessment, free teacher visits prior to your trip and educational resources to help you get the most out of the day. Importantly, your pupils can take part in various structured activities that are linked to the National Curriculum and specific programmes of study.

Spellbound Literacy Trail (Key Stage 1 and 2, Years 2-7)

Let your pupils learn while they're having fun exploring the Creaky Cauldron on our Spellbound Literacy Trail. Armed with worksheets, they are encouraged to use their observational skills while using their interpretation and explanation skills to describe their experiences, thoughts and ideas. Topics covered include: verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, antonyms and compound words. They'll love it - we promise!

The Business of Leisure and Tourism (GCSE and A-Level)

The Business of Leisure tour is designed to support the study of Leisure and Tourism. This resource provides students with detailed information on the Creaky Cauldron's commitment to customer service as well as an insight into the marketing strategies employed at the attraction. The resource contains a range of teacher and student notes which your students will find informative and valuable in assisting them with their studies.

Potions with Dr Thaddeus Bombay (Years 2 & 3)
 
Spend an hour and a half with Dr Bombay in his amazing and magical apothecary and learn all about herbs and flowers that have been used for hundreds of years by wise women and early practitioners of folk medicine.  Discover what happens when different herbs are mixed together in old fashioned granite mortar and pestles and then thrown into a cauldron....   Let your imagination run riot as you are surrounded by smells, bangs and all manner of magical occurrences with the enigmatic Dr Bombay.

Minimum group size 10 - cost £4.00, teachers go free.

A morning at Magic School (Years 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9)
 
Let magic come alive as we help your students to combine the power of imagination and the flexibility of creative play to provide a truly enchanting morning of magical lessons. Lasting approximately three hours their magical journey will begin from the moment they are greeted at the door to the Creaky Cauldron by their magical guide.

Watch their faces come alive through the magic of storytelling as their imaginations are caught and they are taken on a magical journey into a world of wizards, apothecaries and magical creatures. They will get to mix potions; and learn about herbal cures and traditional remedies with the Apthecary's Assistant; create their own magical creatures as they learn about Dragons and Dragonology; and hear wizarding stories from a master storyteller in the magical surroundings of Burke and Hare's ~ purveyors of unusual artefacts and dangerous curios since 1827.

A truly magical experience for children of any age. The morning includes light refreshments and study packs to take away. Minimum number of students 20, maximum number 48. Teaching staff go free. Suitable for ages 8-14.  The cost just £12.50 per pupil (minimum group size of 20) lasts about three hours.

Ghost Tours and Potions Lesson (years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12)
 
Join Dr Bombay and learn how potions were made the old fashioned way, try your hand at grinding herbs in mortars and pestles and even how to make ancient herbal remedies. This tour also includes a history tour of the Creaky Cauldron with some rather scary ghost stories too. The cost just £4.00 per pupil (minimum group size of 10) lasts about an hour and a half. Suitable for age 9+

Alternatively.....  Take a Ghostly History Walk of Stratford Town Centre

This guided walk will inform and entertain as well as encourage the development of active imagination. Through master storytelling, the past will come alive and enthrall your group with scary tales that feature the plague, historical hauntings and the myths of Stratford's history! The cost just £4.00 per pupil (minimum group size of 10) lasts about one hour. Suitable age 9+

Welcome to the Season of Shadows at the Creaky Cauldron, six months of spooky events from midsummer to midwinter and incorporating Startford's Annual Halloween Festival at the Creaky Cauldron, startford's most haunted museum and visitor experience where every hour is the witching hour but you don't need to be a card carrying witch to join in the fun!
